Thank you so much for your continued leadership in raising money for research efforts in cancer and now Parkinson disease at MGH.  It was a pleasure for Whit, Albert and me to meet with you and other members of your family and team.  I speak on behalf of the three of us that we are honored to be part of your special celebration and witness the loyal and supportive community you’ve brought together; a community which has stood by you after your mother passing.   You described Vanita as a powerhouse organizer and who made everyone feel welcome; you have surely inherited this mantle and embody her spirit as the host of this event. 

 

Your family’s philanthropy helps fuel our research at MGH.   In the cancer field, Whit’s research has been focused on discovering reasons for variations in tumor response to chemotherapeutic agents, and devising ways to improve treatment outcomes.  In the Parkinson field, Albert has taken leadership in multicenter clinical trials to slow progression and eventually cure this disease.  Private support such as yours helps ensure that our most promising research can move ahead as fast as possible.  Many thanks for you important and continued support.
